Who we are

RedLineGuru ("we", "us", "our") is a commercial contract analysis service operating at theredlineguru.co.uk. We are the data controller responsible for your personal data under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

We are in the process of registering with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as required by UK law. Our registration details will be published here once confirmed.

If you have any questions about how we handle your data, contact us at: oakande80@gmail.com

What data we collect and why

We collect the minimum data necessary to provide our service. Specifically:

  • Contract documents you upload: Processed solely to generate your analysis. Documents are transmitted directly to Anthropic's Claude AI via their API for analysis and are not stored on our servers at any point. They are not retained, indexed, or used for any other purpose.
  • Email address: If you contact us to request a full report or book a lawyer review, we collect your email address to respond to your enquiry and deliver the service you have requested.
  • Usage data: We may collect basic, anonymous usage information (such as pages visited) to help us improve the service. This does not identify you personally.

How we handle your uploaded documents

Your documents are never stored by us. When you upload a contract, it is transmitted directly to Anthropic's API for analysis and the result is returned to your browser. We do not retain, save, copy, or have access to the contents of your uploaded documents after the analysis is complete. Documents are processed in transit only.

Anthropic (the company behind Claude AI) processes documents in accordance with their own privacy policy and data processing terms, which can be found at anthropic.com. By using our service, you acknowledge that your document will be processed by Anthropic's systems.

We strongly recommend you do not upload documents containing sensitive personal data about third parties (such as employees, customers, or individuals) unless you have a lawful basis to do so under UK GDPR.

Legal basis for processing

We process your data on the following legal bases under UK GDPR:

  • Contract performance: Processing your uploaded document is necessary to provide the analysis service you have requested.
  • Legitimate interests: Basic, anonymous usage data helps us maintain and improve the service.
  • Consent: Where you contact us directly, you are consenting to us using your contact details to respond.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes. The only third party involved in processing your data is:

  • Anthropic, PBC: Your uploaded document is processed by Anthropic's Claude AI to generate the analysis. Anthropic acts as a data processor on our behalf.

We do not use advertising networks, analytics platforms that track individuals, or any other third-party data processors beyond Anthropic.

How long we keep your data

  • Uploaded documents: Not retained at all — processed in transit and immediately discarded.
  • Email correspondence: Retained for as long as necessary to complete your request, and up to 12 months thereafter for record-keeping purposes.
  • Anonymous usage data: Retained in aggregated, non-identifiable form indefinitely.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: You can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure: You can ask us to delete your personal data where we no longer have a legitimate reason to hold it.
  • Right to restriction: You can ask us to restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to data portability: You can request your data in a portable format.
  • Right to object: You can object to processing based on legitimate interests.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at oakande80@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

Our website does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or similar tracking tools. The site may use essential session-based browser storage to maintain your session while you use the analysis tool, but this is not used to track you across sessions or websites.

Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data in transit, including HTTPS encryption for all communications. Your API key (if you use your own) is processed client-side in your browser only and is never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page will reflect when it was last changed. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Terms of Service

RedLineGuru  ·  Last updated: June 2025  ·  Governing law: England & Wales

About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the RedLineGuru website and services at theredlineguru.co.uk ("the Service"), operated by RedLineGuru ("we", "us", "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

What the Service is — and what it is not

RedLineGuru is not a law firm and does not provide regulated legal services. The Service combines AI-generated triage analysis with lawyer-reviewed written reports. The lawyer-reviewed reports constitute professional guidance from a qualified lawyer but do not create a solicitor-client retainer or constitute legal advice within the meaning of the Legal Services Act 2007. For high-value or highly complex transactions, we recommend you also seek advice from a retained solicitor.

The Service operates in two stages:

  • Stage 1 — Free AI triage: When you upload a contract, an AI system (Claude, developed by Anthropic) generates an initial verdict and identifies potential risk areas. This is provided free of charge and is for indicative purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as such.
  • Stage 2 — Lawyer-reviewed report (paid): Following the AI triage, you may request a written report reviewed and produced by a qualified lawyer. This is the paid service and is subject to the fees and turnaround times set out below.

Service tiers and turnaround times

The following tiers are available for lawyer-reviewed reports:

  • Standard — £300: For commercial contracts up to 10 pages. Turnaround is 3–5 working days from receipt of payment and contract.
  • Full Analysis — £500: For commercial contracts over 10 pages, or contracts of greater complexity regardless of length. Turnaround is confirmed by the reviewing lawyer following assessment and will be communicated to you before work begins.
  • Urgent — £750: Available for contracts of any length where a faster turnaround is required. The specific turnaround time will be agreed with you by the reviewing lawyer based on the complexity of the contract and current availability. We cannot guarantee a specific turnaround time for urgent reviews until the contract has been assessed.

We reserve the right to reassign a contract to a higher tier (with your agreement and at the higher fee) if, upon review, it exceeds the scope of the tier you selected. We will always notify you before proceeding at a higher fee.

No solicitor-client relationship

The written reports provided by RedLineGuru are professional guidance documents. They do not:

  • Create a solicitor-client relationship between you and RedLineGuru or any individual lawyer involved in producing the report
  • Constitute formal legal advice within the meaning of the Legal Services Act 2007
  • Replace the need for independent legal counsel on transactions that are high-value, unusually complex, or where significant personal or commercial risk is involved

Limitation of liability — AI triage

The free AI triage analysis is provided entirely "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We accept no liability whatsoever for any loss, damage, cost, or expense arising from reliance on the AI-generated triage verdict or risk flags
  • The AI analysis is indicative only and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your specific circumstances
  • You must not make any commercial decision — including signing or declining a contract — based solely on the AI triage output

Limitation of liability — lawyer-reviewed reports

In relation to the paid lawyer-reviewed reports:

  • We will exercise reasonable professional skill and care in producing all reports
  • Our total liability to you for any claim arising from a lawyer-reviewed report shall not exceed the fee paid by you for that specific report
  • We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, special, or punitive losses arising from a report, including loss of profit, loss of business opportunity, loss of anticipated savings, or losses arising from a third party's actions following negotiation
  • We are not liable for losses arising from your decision to sign, reject, or negotiate a contract, even where that decision was informed by our report
  • Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation

Confidentiality of uploaded documents

We treat all documents you upload as strictly confidential. We do not store, share, sell, or disclose the contents of any contract you upload to any third party, except:

  • Anthropic, PBC, whose AI system processes your document during the free triage stage (see our Privacy Policy for details)
  • The qualified lawyer who reviews your contract for the paid report
  • Where we are required to do so by law or court order

By uploading a document, you confirm that you have the right to share that document for the purpose of obtaining an analysis, and that doing so does not breach any confidentiality obligation you are subject to.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful commercial purposes. You must not:

  • Upload documents that are not commercial contracts — employment contracts, tenancy agreements, and personal documents are outside the scope of this Service
  • Upload documents containing content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes the rights of any third party
  • Use the Service to assist fraud or any unlawful activity
  • Upload personal data about third parties without a lawful basis to do so under UK GDPR
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or reproduce the Service or its underlying systems

Payment terms

All fees are in pounds sterling (GBP) and are as displayed on the website at the time of your request. A payment link will be sent to you following your initial enquiry. Work will not commence until payment has been received in full.

Fees are non-refundable once a lawyer-reviewed report has been delivered. If we are unable to deliver your report within the agreed turnaround time through our fault, we will offer either a full refund or a revised delivery date at your election. We reserve the right to decline any request at our discretion, in which case any payment received will be returned in full.

Intellectual property

The written report produced for you is provided for your personal commercial use in relation to the specific contract reviewed. You may not resell, redistribute, or publish any report without our prior written consent. All other content on the website — including design, copy, and branding — is owned by RedLineGuru and may not be copied or reproduced without permission.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the last update. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
